Durocher named first women's wrestling head coach at Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- On Thursday, Chatham University and Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino announced the hiring of the first women's wrestling head coach, Pat Durocher.

"Coach Durocher brings a wealth of knowledge from the high school and collegiate level," Trevino said. "We are excited to bring him in to start our program."

Durocher will join the Cougars for the inaugural season of women's wrestling in the 2026-27 school year. DuRocher was previously the interim head coach at Siena Heights University during the 2024-25 and will be the head coach of the Saints for the 2025-26 season before joining the Cougars.

"I am so excited to be given the opportunity to build and coach the Women's Wrestling program here at Chatham," Durocher said. "With the combination of Chatham's deep history of strong women's leaders, the success of the athletic department, and the state of Pennsylvania in terms of wrestling, I think we are in the perfect spot to build something very special."

Before becoming the interim head coach at Siena Heights University, DuRocher was an assistant coach at Siena Heights Univerity for the 2023-24 season where he was named the Mid-South Conference Assistant Coach of the Year. Before his time at Siena Heights, DuRocher was the head coach at Plymouth High School from 2018-2023. He was an assistant coach at Plymouth for five years leading up to his time as head coach.

"Thank you to Leonard and the rest of the athletic department for seeing my vision for this program and believing that I'm the right person to build a program that they can be proud of," Durocher commented. "I'm looking forward to getting out on the road in the coming months to recruit our first freshman class! Go Cougars!"
